They're so meant for each other, and neither of them realize how easy it is to just, get together! Of course, they make plans in the on-call room later too. During that 'date', Meredith describes how Derek had saved her when she was drowning. How it was like he 'washed everything clean' for her. By his facial expression, you can obviously tell that he was changed by that experience. Derek and Cristina actually have a heart to heart, which is a nice change. I love their friendship, by the way. At the end, Meredith also has a realization that she can't just end it with Derek. What a great realization.
